PLEASE NOTE: As of April 2006, DBAR Productions is going mostly private and will only select a VERY limited number of outside projects.

Due to my busy schedule and my ongoing work for my own product lines, I am now turning away almost all outside recording projects.

I will be extremely selective about any recording projects that I take on from here on. I am a little more flexible with smaller projects, however, I still won't take on any project that I don't think I am the right person for or that I don't think I will enjoy working on.

Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss your project, though, since I can always refer you to someone else if I don't think the project is right from me.

Also, if you have an exceptional or unique talent that just needs some help to develop properly, please do contact me as I sometimes work out special deals for exceptional artists or bands.

STUDIO POLICIES

I have been ripped off by clients several times in the past, including some long term clients that I considered close friends. I also will no longer tolerate clients who do not respect my time, my home and my studio. Thus, I have been forced to stop trying to be so easy going with everyone and implement certain studio policies which are the norm at almost any professional recording studio.

All new clients must read and agree to the studio policies and bring in a signed copy to their first session before any work will begin.

Studio Rates & Hours

Normal Studio hours are 10AM to 5PM weekdays by appointment only.
Evenings and weekends may be made available in special situations, but may require an additional "after hours" fee.

Music Projects

My rate for music projects is between $60 to $75 per hour for studio time and my services as recording engineer, with a one hour minimum charge. Due to my very limited availability, my rate will vary depending on how busy I am and how much I want to work on the project (if I agree to do it at all).

Music composition, arranging, and production services are not included in the per hour rate. Rates for composing and arranging music are usually a flat rate based on the complexity of the song and the desired instrumentation. Rates for my services as a producer are determined on a case by case basis depending on the exact services needed.

Corporate Projects

My rate for all types of corporate recording work (dialog recording/editing, post production, etc.) is $75 per hour. There is a one hour minimum charge.

Custom music production or sound design for jingles, radio, TV, film, or any other type of corporate project is done on a flat rate basis.

Materials and Other Expenses

CD-Rs are cheap these days and so I will usually include these for no additional cost unless you need more than a couple of copies. All other required materials will be charge to the client.

All clients for large or long-term projects will be required to purchase their own hard drives for recording and backups. See the studio policies for more.
